SF: MEDICAL EXAMINER IDENTIFIES SECOND VICTIM OF DOUBLE HOMICIDE IN EXCELSIOR
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
The San Francisco medical examiner's office has identified 24-year-old Philip Ng, a city resident, as the man who died at an area hospital after being shot early Saturday morning in the city's Excelsior neighborhood.
A second victim, Ernad Joldic, 21, of Daly City, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, according to police.
The shooting occurred at about 1:50 a.m. Saturday at Excelsior Avenue and Athens Street, police said.
Police have not announced any arrests in the case and the shooting remains under investigation.
Early today, police arrested a man in connection with a second double homicide that occurred in front of a Sunset District pizzeria about 40 minutes after the Excelsior shooting.
Matthew Owyang was arrested at 12:30 a.m. at his Daly City home on suspicion of fatally shooting Daly City resident Jason de la Cruz, 31, and San Francisco resident Derek Butch, 23, according to police.
