Two Shot Dead in The Sunset, One Shot to Death in The Excelsior

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ― Two of three fatal shooting victims who lost their lives within 40 minutes of each other Saturday morning have been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner's office.
Daly City resident Jason de la Cruz, 31, and San Francisco resident Derek Butch, 23, were fatally shot at 19th Avenue and Irving Street in the city's Sunset District just before 2:30 a.m., police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The first shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. at Excelsior Avenue and Athens Street in the city's Excelsior neighborhood, police said.
One male victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, and a second male victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital in critical condition, according to police.
No suspect information was available for either shooting.

71 Year-Old Man Beaten to Death during Robbery Attempt
(03-28) 09:20 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco man beaten to death during an apparent robbery attempt in the city's South of Market area was identified by the medical examiner's office today as 71-year-old Rodolfo Carreon.
Carreon was attacked at 1:39 a.m. Thursday on Mission Street east of Mary Street, police said. A security guard witnessed the beating, shouted at the attacker from across the street and then called police.
The guard said the assailant had beaten Carreon and gone through his pockets before running west toward Sixth Street.
Carreon was pronounced dead at San Francisco General Hospital. Police have made no arrests.

- A bank robbery ring was busted when a good Samaritan followed the robbers' getaway car, and got its license plate number. The three suspects were arrested. The men had robbed 15 banks since the fall.

Man Shot to Death in Visitacion Valley
SF Police Find Fatal Shooting Victim
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ― San Francisco police found a fatal gunshot victim in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood Sunday morning, according to Sgt. Steve Mannina.Just before 11 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Blythdale Avenue after someone who knew the man contacted police, Mannina said.
The officers found the 30-year-old city resident unresponsive and fire officials arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead, said Mannina.
Officers also found multiple shell casings at the scene, he said.
Police have not arrested any suspects and are asking anyone with
information about the incident to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.

Teenager Shot Dead In Western Addition
SF: 17-YEAR-OLD BOY KILLED IN THURSDAY NIGHT SHOOTING
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
A 17-year-old boy was the victim of a fatal shooting Thursday night in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco medical examiner's office.
San Francisco police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Turk and Gough streets at about 8 p.m.
The victim, identified by the medical examiner's office as Marquise Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The medical examiner's office is still trying to confirm where Washington resided, an investigator said.
Man Shot Dead in Hunters Point
SF: MAN SHOT TO DEATH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON IN BAYVIEW DISTRICT
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
A 37-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in San Francisco's Bayview District, police reported.
Police were called to the unit block of Navy Road at about 3:30 p.m. after a report of gunshots in the area.
According to police, the victim was found in the street and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in the case, police reported.

Teen Rapes And Shoots 14-Year-Old Girl
SF: POLICE SEARCHING FOR 17-YEAR-OLD WHO ALLEGEDLY RAPED, SHOT GIRL
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
San Francisco police and Yolo County authorities are looking for a 17-year-old San Francisco boy who allegedly raped and shot a 14-year-old girl on March 8.
The incident occurred at a location on Cesar Chavez Street in the Mission District, according to police spokesman Sgt. Neville Gittens.
Gittens said the girl's gunshot wound was not life threatening.
Gittens did not disclose the relationship between the girl and the unnamed juvenile suspect. "They were known to each other," he said.
According to Chief Probation Officer Don Meyer of the Yolo County Probation Department, the boy reportedly has a relative in the West Sacramento area.
"We have notified the West Sacramento Police Department that he's a high-risk offender," Meyer said.
If the boy is found in Yolo County, he will be transferred back to San Francisco, Meyer said.

Two Mission District shootings kill 1, injure 3
Around 5 hours later, just before 1 a.m., 3 more people were shot at 16th and Julian Streets. They were also taken to SFGH, where one died, another was in critical condition, and another was in stable condition.
Retaliation? The first victim was in Norteño territory, and the 3 others were in Sureño territory.

Man shot in the Mission

One person was shot in San Francisco's Mission District on Thursday night, police said today.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Valencia Street shortly before 9 p.m. and found one victim suffering at least one gunshot wound, according to officials.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.
No suspects were taken into custody, according to officials.

A man who was shot early this morning in San Francisco's Mission Terrace neighborhood sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.
Officers responded to Paris Street and Avalon Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. and found the man suffering one gunshot wound, police said.
The man gave police a description of two suspects involved in the shooting but no arrests have been made, according to officials.

Woman Beat to Death in SOMA
Homeless Woman Beat To Death Outside SF Nightclub
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / BCN) ― San Francisco homicide detectives and the medical examiner's office were investigating the beating death of a homeless woman whose body was found Wednesday outside a nightclub in the city's South of Market neighborhood.Police at the scene said the victim, who was between the ages of 40 and 45 years old, frequently slept outside of Boss Nightclub at 750 Harrison Street, along with her homeless boyfriend.
Investigators said observers indicated that the couple fought regularly and sometimes violently.
Police were looking for the boyfriend after discovering the woman's body about 1 p.m.
No names were immediately released.

(03-11) 17:32 PDT SAN FRANCISCO - A 22-year-old man visiting his family was shot and killed on the street today near the Sunnydale housing projects in Visitacion Valley, San Francisco police said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was standing in front of 130 Blythdale Ave. when a gunman approached and opened fire, said Lt. John Murphy of the homicide detail.
The killer ran off. Police said they had few leads in the case.
"Nobody out there wanted to give us a description," Murphy said. "Everyone was kind of afraid."
Murphy said the victim had moved away from the area and had been living in San Mateo County. He had family in the projects, however, and was visiting them when he was killed, police said.
"We hadn't seen him in a long time," but the victim may have still had enemies in the neighborhood, Murphy said. "You never know. These guys carry grudges."

- A worker at the Clift hotel in Union Square was arrested after he raped a guest.
- Patrons at an Excelsior District pool hall disarmed and beat up a would-be robber on Friday night. He got away, but was later arrested by police after a brief car chase. It turns out he had robbed the same place before, and he only got hit by angry people's pool sticks after they realized he was the same guy.
