Man Injured In Tenderloin Shooting

SF: UPDATE: MAN SHOT IN NECK DURING TENDERLOIN DISPUTE EXPECTED TO SURVIVE

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)

A 25-year-old San Francisco man is expected to survive after being shot in the neck early this morning during an argument over a woman, police said.

The shooting took place at about 2 a.m. in the 500 block of Leavenworth Street, in the city's Tenderloin district.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams, the victim got into a dispute with another man over an ex-girlfriend, when the man shot him once in the neck.

The suspect, a 29-year-old city resident, fled on foot but was later arrested at his apartment by police, Williams said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening, according to Williams.

FYI there was an article on sfgate yesterday about a slain man found decomposing in his truck on 16th in Potrero Hill. Of course, I cannot find it now. Just push it under the rug and consider it a -1 for the total homicide count at the end of the year. Thanks for your site. It is much more honest and reliable than anything else I can find here in the Denial "Bay" Area.

Thanks for the heads up. Yet another article about crime in SF that the Chronicle makes "disappear" after it was up for a short amount of time. It was up there yesterday, yet just several hours pass and it's not on the front page, not in the Bay Area section, and not in the crime section. You can find it by searching for it though. Here's the link:
