Hello, on page 10 of the April 2008 West of Twin Peaks Observer newspaper there is a police blotter report stating there was a homicide on 3/29/08 at 3:23 pm at Lobos and Capitol. A woman was shot in the chest and died. Taraval Station Case #080329654. The web site for this newspaper is www.tpobserver.com

To receive a daily, complete police report e-mailed to you, call 759-3100. FYI.

Thanks for the info. I just checked the SFPD crimemaps, and while homicides are still "unavailable," there is an aggravated assault listed at Capitol and Lobos. The description? "Aggravated assault with a gun." Date? 3/29/2008. Seems like that wouldbe the same incident your talking about. Why is it so hard for the SFPD to release reliable information? I checked the link you gave and couldn't find anything about a homicide though...is it on the website, or was it just in the printed version?

Actually, it looks like any incident that happened between 3/27 and 4/02 has been removed from the blotter on the tpobserver website.

Hi Rah, Yes, It was only listed in the newspaper printed version of the West of Twin Peaks Observer newspaper. You may obtain a copy of that paper at one of the newsracks on West Portal Avenue near the tunnel or in front of Starbucks.

The murder is listed as being the first homicide in the Taraval Police District for the year 2008.

I agree with you. We the People have a right to know what is going on with the violence in our neighborhoods.

This secrecy and coverup and silencing of information is caused --I believe -- by politics, Powerful people behind the scenes who put pressure on the SFPD to keep San Francisco looking "safe" for tourists even when it's not. There is a great deal of potential tourist dollar and money involved.

Keep your eye on the money. Follow the money.

Thank you for doing this website.
Keep up the good work.

I will continue to comment whenever I hear of anything more that's been covered up or purposely left unreported.

This needs to be exposed. San Francisco is purposely covering up homicides in order to protect their tourist image. Unbelievable!
