SF Gunfight: 2 Shot, Woman Caught In Crossfire

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― A woman driving her car down a San Francisco street was caught in the crossfire when a gunfight broke out Friday afternoon between teenagers from rival housing projects.

Police and witnesses said two of those involved in the shootout at Sunnydale Avenue and Rey Street suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The woman in the car was visably shaken after gunfire shattered her rear car window, but was otherwise unharmed.

It was estimated at least 20 to 30 rounds were fired. Neighbors described it as the latest in a spate of up to a half-dozen shootings over the past month tied to a dispute between teenagers living in a pair of nearby housing projects.

The two injured persons, both said to be in their late teens or early 20s, were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

I haven't seen this on the News. Even the stabbing death of that 17 year old boy hasn't made SFgate. The media really knows how to keep the mayhem going on in San Francisco under raps. If these brazen shootings had happened in Oakland they would have been all over the news.

its sickening. the longer they ignore it, the worse it will get until they have no choice. alotta recently new young 30 something year olds who have just started to raise kids dont wanna hear about that...also to note the fact that most stories, more to say articals with details are in nice nieghborhoods, because people in those nieghborhoods are shocked, and wanna make a big deal about it. in other nieghborhoods most just grow numb to it.

Hope this blog is still being kept up. Violence in this city is so under-reported; the author is providing a great service.
