Rah, can you believe that KTVU put the San francisco homicide total at 91 after the two homicides in the Mission? What's going on here with these numbers?

Well, the last occasion that an SFPD officer stated what the murder rate was in the news, they said that it was at 89 (even though a week before it had been stated at 94). So I'm guessing KTVU simply took that most recently quoted number, and added the double-homicide to it. The SFPD really needs to clear these numbers up, though I'm pretty sure that won't really happen...

I should clarify...it was stated to be "at least" 89 by the officer. No one even said 89 exactly.
