Damn! There is definitely a gang war going on in the city, and something needs to be done about it! We've had a homicide or two every week since 2008 started and I don't think any of them have been solved yet. WTF!!!!

There were 11 homicides in San Francisco in the first two weeks of 2007. The difference is, that last year, the media was under reporting the homicide issue in San Francisco because of image and tourism concerns. This year, the media has been more forthcoming and has put more focus on the problem. Homicides are actually down in SF so far this year but the public awareness and vigilance is up because the SF media is finally reporting on this issue. It's amazing how the actions, OR inactions, of the media affects people's perception of crime. Ask Oakland all about that!

The police can only help when the ghetto fools invovled will provide information. It is impossible to solve a crime when people at the crime scene "ain't seen nothin" and "don't know nothin". There's no gang war it's ignorant people that think they can play God. Grow up get the facts and understand that the police officers have lives and more to do than get woken up in the middle of the night to deal with shit that will never be solved beacause that's how the world works. Next time you see the police do NOTHING! think twice assholes they are dealing with sitty people that should've been locked up in the first place. That's Real!!!!!!!!

Get woken up in the middle of the night??? I thought they should be cruising around!!!
Take shifts, get more officers working in the streets! Double it!
The crime is getting out of control in the city! HeY!

The fact is crime is at a high from 1995... also every major city has been experiencing a decrease in crimes since the mid-90s. There is something wrong in SF because it is the ONLY major city to still have a high crime rate. Something needs to be done. And the police are part of the problem, but my impression is that the government is probably more of the problem.

First of all you need to realize that homicide detectives don't work 24 hrs a day, so when they are called out they only have the witnesses at the crime sacene to deal with. The second problem in solving crimes in SF is that the distrcit attorney Kamela Harris needs to prosecute more criminals and not do double secret probation for the people who plague our streets. Murderers have been found and if you want to know why they are still on the street just ask Kamela!
