i'll believe the crackdown when i see it. just yesterday evening at about 6pm, at the corner of 17th & guerrero not one but *two* cars roar thru a red light going north on guerrero, with an sfpd car at the light on 17th going west -- it was the front cat at the ight and the officers had a clear view.

what did sfpd car do? nothing. a big fat nothing. turned right on guerrero but did not pursue the cars who blew the lights. pathetic.

everyday i see people brazenly blow thru reds and pull other really bad stunts. more enforcement is needed, but again, i'll believe it when i see it.

I actually saw a couple people getting pulled over by some motorcycle cops the other day in the sunset, but in a week it'll all be forgotten, and back to life as usual...

Speaking of which, the 35th fatality just occured last night. A man was struck and killed by the J-Church train on San Jose Avenue.

The Chron's stats are pretty odd. Two of the people who died as a result of traffic incidents died from old injuries--one of them 25 years ago.
