On April 15th, 14 year-old Tamesha Tobie, of Stockton -reportedly- accidentally shot and killed herself in her grandmother's home on Oak Street. Well apparently, someone else shot her, according to a report released July 1st by the medical examiner, and Tamesha Tobie is now San Francisco's 30th homicide of the year. Up until early September, when the Guardian investigated, even the SFPD, including the Lt. of the Homicide Unit, had no knowledge of the medical examiner's findings, though the Lt. states he personally regarded it as suspicious all along. It was only after the Guardian's report that the SFPD ruled her death a homicide. Further more, the gun that killed her (a .357 magnum revolver. Think Dirty Harry) has been found to have been used in another homicide, earlier this year.
So that's 82 homicides for SF.
